Board of Directors Lisa Dunster - Founder/President Lisa is a 1990 graduate from the University of Cincinnati, with a B.A. in Communication Arts. After graduating she found herself answering the call to service when her National Guard Unit shipped out for Saudi Arabia in support of the first Gulf War. Following her return she decided to pursue a second degree, a M.Ed. from Xavier University graduating in 1997. For the past fourteen years she has served as a high school English teacher. Schaulin - Secretary/Chief Operating Officer Karl is a 1973 graduate from the University of Illinois, with a B.S. in General Engineering. He has over 35 years of experience in Operations, R&D, and Quality assignments in P&G across 6 different Business Units and 4 different U.S. locations. He has extensive experience leading sites and organizations through challenging business situations and delivering excellent results while growing his people to be the future leaders in the company. Currently, Karl has responsibility for leading the global Quality organization for P&G's Fabric Care, Home Care, Chemicals, and Fragrances businesses. These businesses include products such as Tide, Gain, Downy, Dawn, Ariel, Fabreeze, and Mr. Clean and have operations in over 250 locations worldwide supporting $30 billion in sales. His organization of over 800 Quality professionals ensures the Quality of our products meet the demands of the over 1 billion global consumers who use our products each day. Karl has served in a number of leadership positions at Epiphany United Methodist Church, is the current President of the Black Horse Run Community Organization, and is a member of the local chapter of the American Society of Quality as well as the National Quality Executive Board. Karl's passion for Compass Retreat Center stems from the opportunity to give something back to those families that have already given this country so much. He says, "I have traveled all over the world, and every time I come back to the U.S.A., I walk through customs feeling proud of being a citizen of this great country. Steve Schrader - Vice President / Chief Financial Officer A strategic and financial CFO with broad background that includes key business unit and corporate roles in finance, investor relations, strategic planning, business development, and mergers and acquisitions. Significant experience interacting with key internal and external stakeholders including the investment community, executive management, Board of Directors, and other companies. Since October 2006 Steve serves as CFO for Oncology Hematology Care, one of the largest ($300 million) medical oncology practices in the U.S.A. with 46 doctors serving patients in Ohio, Indiana, and Kentucky. His responsibilities include oversight for accounting, financial results management, billing operations, financings, and new ancillary business analysis. He is responsible to manage a staff of 30-40. He also provides analysis of various joint venture opportunities with local providers to acquire radiation assets and offer radiation services to supplement oncology services. From 1986 to June 2006 Steve worked for Cinergy a $5 billion revenue utility serving electric and gas customers in Ohio, Indiana, and Kentucky. The company's primary business units were regulated businesses and commercial operations. North Carolina based Duke Energy acquired Cinergy in April 2006. During his tenure with them he served as V.P. and CFO, Regulated Business. Similarly, he has led marketing analysis groups, introduced new financial and accounting tools to the business unit. Presented monthly financial results and business drivers to executive management as well as quarterly results preparation for the Board of Directors. ALso responsible to work with outside auditors. Steve says,"the reason I am interested in helping is that I have the highest respect for those that put their life on the line to protect our freedoms and our families. Although we can't repay them for that sacrifice the least we can do is help them transition back into society and their family after their service." Richard J. Chernesky Richard concentrates his practice in the area of general corporate law, including negotiation, structuring, and consummation of acquisitions, divestitures, mergers, and reorganizations. He has extensive experience representing family owned and publicly held companies, with emphasis on general corporate and business advice as well as raising capital through public and private offerings, venture capital financings, and real estate syndications. Richard graduated with his J.D., from The Ohio State University Moritz college of Law (1966). Prior, he received his B.A., Political Science from The Ohio State University (1963). Richard is a member of the National Lawyers Association, Ohio State Bar Association / Corporate Law Committee, Dayton Bar Association, is a Member of the Board of Trustees for Sinclair Community College, Member of the Board of Directors for Mike-Sell's, Inc. ,and a Member of the Board of Directors for International Display Systems, Inc. He has served the community in several other board postions throughout his career as well. Susan Warm In the 10 years she worked there she counseled adolescents and their families, made referrals to outside agencies, facilitated support groups, and worked with teachers and administrators to help students be as successful as they could be. She still facilitates two support groups at Sycamore. In 1968 she graduated dfrom Miami University with a degree in Speech Pathology and worked as a speech and hearing therapist for six years in the Cincinnati Public Schools. While raising her two children she worked closely as a volunteer with the Loveland Schools. She obtained her graduate degree in community counseling (now known as mental health counseling) from the Univeristy of Cincinnati in 1997 and worked for Norcen Behavioral Health until her employment with Sycamore in 1998. She has a specialty in group work and served for three years (2004-2006) on the board as secretary of the Association for the Specialists in Group Work. She currently does volunteer jobs at Crossroads Community Church including mission trips to South Africa and New Orleans. She is leading a Go Cincinnati Project in Warren County in May. Susan says, "I have a heart for kids and their families. I am so appreciative that men and women are willing to serve to defend our country and my family in particular. I can't imagine how hard it must be to pick up the pieces of their former lives and move ahead, sometime knowing they will be serving again. Anything I can do to help the process of coming home, excites me. If it combines, families, kids, a ropes course and a few horses thrown in, I'm there." Bill Reigle A Senior Human Resource (HR) Executive with over 25 years of progressive experience gained in union and non-union environments. He has specific emphasis in employee relations, recruiting, benefits and performance management. He is a skilled negotiator and dedicated executive with proven ability to develop others, build strong teams and solve difficult HR issues. Bill is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati and an avid Bearcat fan. Bill has also served in a number of leadership positions at Epiphany United Methodist Church, is a current Member of the Society for Human Resource Management. He is also an active coach with Loveland Soccer. Â Jimmy Clark Outside of WellPoint, Jimmy is an adjunct instructor at Brown Mackie College teaching IT related courses in the evenings. He is also working to develop a new Health IT degree program to prepare the next generation of IT professionals for the growing Health IT job market of tomorrow. Jimmy is an active member of the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society. He is also active in the Greater Cincinnati Emmaus and Chrysalis community serving frequently as a Chrysalis flight team member. His love and respect for the military began at an early age. His father, James Roland Clark, Jr., a Vietnam veteran, was active-duty Air Force until Jimmy was 5 and has served in the Air Force Reserves since. Jimmy's grandfather, James Roland Clark, Sr., a veteran of World War II, was a two branch serviceman - Army and Navy. Jimmy shares these words, "My family has a rich and proud military history - both past and present service men and women. Compass provides a unique way for me to honor them and a way to serve the current men, women, and their families of the National Guard and Reserves who have so bravely served and sacrificed for me and my family.  Gene also has decades of clinical social work and family therapy teaching experience beginning in 1973 with senior social work majors at Thomas More College and University of Cincinnati as well as teaching graduate students at The College of Mount St. Joseph’s Family Studies program. He has supervised, taught and trained general adult psychiatry residents and child psychiatry fellows as well as Family Medicine residents since 1983. He has served as a consultant and trainer to transplant surgery attending physicians at University of Cincinnati and since 1983 has supervised, trained and taught licensed psychologists, MSWs, LPCCs and MDs in the extern Family Therapy Center Training Program in addition to providing hundreds of therapy workshops to professionals and agencies in the Tri-State area. Gene has offices in Kenwood and Fairfield. He has been married for 30 years to Tracy and has 2 adopted children. His hobbies are painting, weight lifting and kachina and Santos making.
